WHAT THEY SAY...

June 2001, The Central European pilgrimage

This section is intended to give an opportunity to pilgrims to share their reflection or experience of the Italy Pilgrimage of 2001.

We think the route was great since most of the time was spent visiting rather than long bus rides. What a privilege to attend mass in the Catacombs and Our Lady of Victory Church with the Infant of Prague and all the places in between! What a privilege to see the Pope!

Terry and Rosemary

Thank you so much for inviting me to join the recent pilgrimage to Italy, Austria and the Czech Republic…Thank you for having Purita as my roommate. We had lots of fun!

Father, the pilgrimage we had was amazing, exciting and very educational. It gave us better knowledge of the lives of saints. I didn't mind the long walking at all. The hotels were comfortable, although I lost my padlock in Palatino Hotel in Italy. I would suggest that climbing be eliminated in the future since this is very hard on people with back injury.

Mercedes

For the most part I enjoyed the trip, except for the unfortunate incident. I would like to suggest that English be used as a common language in future trips. Participants need to be informed that the trip is strenuous activities and that there is lots of walking.

Misook

We suggest that the rosary be recited during the long rides.

Several oral comments

Quite a number have indicated that they enjoyed the trip. However, some have indicated to Fr. Lim that the following points be stressed in future trips:

All participants:

  1. must know the pilgrimage involves lots of walking and uphill too.
  2. be gracious to those who serve us - the waiters, drivers and tour guides.
  3. be informed that shopping be done at designated places only so as not to inconvenience others who came primarily for the pilgrimage.
