 Sanctuary Flowers 

This week’s Sanctuary flowers were donated in memory of Cesar Uytingco by his wife, Lee, and family.

If you would like to donate altar flowers in memory of a loved one, in thanksgiving or in celebration of a baptism, marriage, anniversary or birthday, please call the Parish office @ 251-7055.

We are in need of flower arrangers to help beautify our church and altar.  If you are willing to share your special talents, please call the Parish office @ 251-7055.

 

                                                                         CATECHETICAL SUNDAY  

NEXT weekend we celebrate Catechetical Ministry Sunday with the churches throughout the United States .  Please remember in your prayers all the members of the parish who will be commissioned at the 9:15 A.M. Mass on Sun., September 28, 2008.

 

                                                          CATECHETICAL MINISTRY REGISTRATION  

Catechetical Ministry will continue to take registration for classes with space still available through the month of September, as follows:

Tuesdays:  9:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M.

Wednesdays 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.

Thursdays 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.

Please bring a copy of your children’s Baptismal Certificate if they are receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation (Confession), Eucharist (Communion) or Confirmation.  Please note, this is on a first come, first served basis.

 

St. victor’s fiesta (October 4^th& 5^th) – Needs your help!

- Only two weeks until our Parish Fiesta – Oct. 4 & 5.

 We are having games, special attractions, entertainment, international foods, silent auction, bingo and $18,000 raffle, BBQ & pancake breakfast.  Please join us!

- Thank you to our Silent Auction chairmen, Michael  Romero, and Diem Doan.  If you have any large silent auction items to donate, please give call the Parish Office @ 251-7055. .

- Workers are needed for BINGO, GAME BOOTHS, FOOD BOOTHS, and DESSERT BOOTH.  Baked goods are also needed for the cake walk and the dessert booth.  If you can volunteer your time, please call the office at 251-7055.  SCHOOL PARENTS:  YOUR FESTIVAL VOLUNTEER HOURS CAN COUNT FOR YOUR SCHOOL PARENT PARTICIPATION HOURS.

- NEED A TAX DEDUCTION? HAVE A USED CAR IN GOOD WORKING ORDER?  Why not donate it to this year’s FIESTA!!!  Please call the Parish Office @ 251-7055.  If we do get a car, we will have a LIVE auction for it prior to the drawing for the RAFFLE prizes.

- $18,000.00 RAFFLE – Tickets are available after Mass today.  A book of 15 tickets for $40.00 to be eligible to win one of our money amounts with our 1st prize of $10,000, 2^nd prize - $3000, 3^rd prize - $1500, 4^th prize - $1000 & 5^th prize - $500.  Simply put your completed tickets in an envelope and drop it in the collection basket or take it to the parish office.  Congratulations to our 3rd early-bird raffle winner, parishioner, Harry Salgado, who won $50.00 in scrip gift certificates. 

     

School News

Applications for St. Victor’s School for the 2008-2009 school year, are still available in the School Office from 8:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. and online @ http://www.school.stvictor.org .

 

$CRIP gift certificates will be available after all Masses - NEXT WEEKEND (except Sunday 7:00 & 8:00 A.M.).

 

Altar servers

Applications for students wishing to become altar servers are still available at the parish or school offices.  Candidates must be in 4^th (age 9) through 12^th grades to participate.  PLEASE NOTE: Training will begin September 22^nd, on Mondays & Tuesdays, 3:30 to 4:30 P.M., in the church.  St. Victor’s students will be trained during the school day.  

There is a mandatory training update meeting for all CURRENT altar Servers and a parent on Fri., Sept. 26^th, 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the church.  All servers wanting to remain in this ministry must attend this meeting.

 

                                                          SAN LORENZO RUIZ DE MANILA FIESTA

The Diocesan Council of Filipino Catholics invites everyone to a celebration in honor of San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila on September 27, 2008.  The Eucharistic celebration will be 11:00 A.M. at St. Justin’s Church.  A reception will follow in the parish center.  For more information, please call 729-7228 or 578-5101.

The Knights of Columbus is forming a council here at St. Victor’s.  Become a Charter Member of the new St. Victor’s Council along with Fr. Michael, Fr. Paul and Fr.
