4th Sunday of Easter - World Day of Prayer for Vocations - May 2-3, 2009

VOCATION PRAYER: Jesus, You are the Good Shepherd.  You know each of us and You call us by name to serve in faith.  Help us respond generously to Your voice.  Give courage and guidance to those You call to the priesthood and the deaconate, to religious life and lay ministry, so they may respond wholeheartedly and serve devotedly.  We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen                                                                                                                                                                                                                         (Companions of St. Anthony)

SECOND COLLECTION TODAY FOR ST. VICTOR’S DEVELOPMENT FUND

Today’s second collection is for St. Victor’s Development Fund.  This fund assists with the never-ending repairs and projects on the parish grounds.  Thank you for your generosity.

May “Crowning” of the Blessed Mother

Please join the Legion of Mary in honoring our Blessed Mother next Saturday, May 9th.  The Rosary procession starts at 4:30 P.M. followed by our Saturday 5:00 P.M. Mass.  Please come and bring flowers.  Refreshments will be served after the Mass.

Mother’s Day Spiritual Bouquet Cards

Mother’s Day Spiritual Bouquet Cards are available on the tables around the inside of the Church.  These cards are wonderful for remembering mothers everywhere – living or deceased.  It is a great opportunity to have them remembered during Mass in our Church on Mother’s Day and throughout the month of May.  Please drop the completed return envelope in the collection basket or take it to the Parish Office by 9:00 A.M. this Friday, May 8th.

Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet

The Knights of Columbus St. Victor’s Council 4112 will be hosting a Mother’s Day Buffet right here in St. Victor’s Parish Hall on Sunday, May 10th, from 8:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M.  The buffet will include omelets, eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, baron of beef, ham and turkey tray, croissants, fresh fruit, potato salad, rice, desserts, orange juice and coffee.  Cost is only $13.00 per adult and $8.00 per child (12 and under).  For any additional information, please contact the Parish Office @ 251-7055.  Tickets are available after Mass today.

YOUR ATTENTION, PLEASE! At the Bishop and Father Michael’s request - until further notice and because of the swine flu outbreak - our parishioners are asked: to refrain from holding hands during the recitation of the Lord’s Prayer, to share the Sign of Peace by making a reverent bow to each other, and to receive Holy Communion only into the hands.  The Bishop’s letter is on the tables next to the bulletin this weekend.
