Stained Glass

2nd Sunday of Easter - Divine Mercy Sunday - March 29-30, 2008

There’s wideness in God’s mercy like the wideness of the sea.  There is kindness in His justice, which is more than liberty.  There is no place where earth’s sorrows are more felt than up in heaven. There is no place where earth’s failings have such kindly judgment given. For the love of God is broader than the measure of man’s mind.  And the heart of the Eternal is most wonderfully kind.

SECOND COLLECTION TODAY FOR ST. VICTOR’S ST. VINCENT de PAUL SOCIETY

Today’s second collection is for St. Victor’s St. Vincent de Paul Society.  Please help our volunteers help our neighbors in need.  Thank you for your support and generosity.

A Big St. Victor’s Welcome To...

Rev. Michael Hendrickson, who will be the new pastor here at St. Victor’s upon Father Perata’s retirement in June.  Father Hendrickson is a California native and grew up in Morgan Hill.  After graduating from Live Oak High School, he entered the U.S. Naval Academy in July 1986, was commissioned as a naval officer in May 1990, and served as a Surface Warfare Officer.  After leaving the Navy in 1994, he entered St. Patrick’s Seminary and was ordained a priest of the Diocese of San Jose in June 2001.  His first assignment was to the Cathedral Basilica, where he was assigned for two years.  Following this assignment, he reentered the Navy as a chaplain. He served the Marines on Okinawa, Japan, and aboard USS IWO JIMA, home-ported in Norfolk, Virginia.  After his three-and–a-half year tour as a chaplain, he returned to the Cathedral and has been serving as their parochial vicar.

PLANNED GIVING NOTES

A Charitable Trust Can Increase Your Income!

The IRS allows you to use a charitable trust to increase your income and reduce your taxes.  The trust is especially useful for highly appreciated assets (real estate or securities).  The trust can also be used to help loved ones with income after you have gone, but keep the principal from being spent unwisely.

If you want to know more about this, the Diocese can provide free assistance.  Call Development Office @ 983-0246, or write to them at: 900 Lafayette St., Suite 301, Santa Clara, CA 95050.

First Friday Adoration and Mass

All parishioners are invited and encouraged to spend an hour in the Chapel before the Blessed Sacrament on First Friday, April 4th, for our 24 Hour Adoration, that begins after Friday’s 8:00 A.M. Mass.  You will also have the opportunity to attend Friday’s 7:30 P.M. Mass in the Church.

Something incredible is about to happen!

St. Victor Church’s Vacation Bible School is in the planning stage!  It will be held the mornings of July 21st through July 25th. What is Vacation Bible School?  It is a Jesus celebration!  It is 5 mornings of music, games, snack, drama, and Bible teaching for children entering kindergarten, through 5th grade.

Power Lab Vacation Bible School will give our children a new enthusiasm for God’s Word – and for Jesus!  We will engage the children with fun, and science-minded surprises; they’ll see amazing things happen. They’ll see that Jesus gives them the power to be thankful; help others; be brave; live forever; and tell others about God. For more information, or to help, contact the Parish Office @ 251-7055.

Thank You

St. Victor’s Altar Society would like to THANK the members of our parish community for their generosity of Easter Flower monies that helped to defray the cost of beautifying our Church for Easter.
